VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County has lifted a precautionary boil water notice for utility customers in six communities across Volusia and Flagler counties after two rounds of testing confirmed the water meets safety standards.
The notice, issued Saturday, Oct. 3, affected Halifax Plantation, Sugar Mill, Fairchild Oaks, Plantation Oaks of Flagler, Wexford Cove and Wexford Reserve.
Inclement weather led to an electrical disruption that temporarily disabled the pumping equipment, causing a loss of water pressure. County utility crews restored service, and all subsequent bacteriological tests met regulatory standards.
Residents can resume normal tap water use, including drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes, without boiling it first.
