Man accused of fatally stabbing Daytona Beach couple transported to Volusia County Jail

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The man accused of slashing the throats of a couple biking home in Daytona Beach earlier this month is now in the Volusia County Jail.

Jean Macean’s new mug shot was posted by the jail Tuesday evening. He was previously held at the Orange County Jail on no bond.

The police chief said Macean confessed to killing Brenda and Terry Aultman after he was taken into custody.

U.S. marshals said they arrested Macean in Orange County thanks to a tip from a waitress.

There’s still no word of a motive for the killings.

Macean is expected to make his first appearance in front of a judge in Volusia County on Wednesday morning.
