Port Orange police investigate fatal bicycle crash

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — An investigation is underway in Port Orange after police said a bicyclist was killed in a crash Thursday night.

At about 8:45 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Dunlawton Avenue and Village trail for a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.

The bicyclist was taken to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, where they later died.

The bicyclist’s name has not been released.

The driver immediately stopped to help the bicyclist, according to police.
