DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The lifted truck event plus Labor Day weekend made for a busy beach day in Volusia County.
Soft sand was among the problems the drivers encountered at the beach.
At least three different lifted trucks got stuck in one area of Daytona Beach on Monday, and a couple needed another vehicle to help pull them out.

Daytona Truck Meet 2020 drew more than 5,000 lifted trucks and more than 30,000 people to the area. The event is not sanctioned by the city.
Other trucks got stuck in the sand, and Volusia County Beach Safety said its officers and lifeguards responded to more than 500 calls.

The event had been postponed because of concerns over COVID-19.
Everyone on the beach was spread out and stayed in small groups of family and friends as they enjoyed one final summer holiday of fun.
