JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Florida man is being recognized after wrestling an alligator in an elementary school parking lot.

Mike Dragich is a licensed trapper and known as the “Blue Collar Brawler.”

He got a call about the gator and showed up to a crowd of neighbors alongside police and firefighters at a school outside of Jacksonville.

“There’s nothing that gets the juices flowing and the adrenaline pumping quite like messing with a big alligator,” Dragich said. “But what I was doing was getting him tired. You’ve got to get these animals tired, or they can really hurt you.”

Dragich said the gator was aggressive and had become used to people.
