WATCH: Officers dive under water to save boy trapped in car that crashed into Florida canal

MIAMI — A young boy is making a full recovery after a dramatic rescue in South Florida.


Investigators in Miami-Dade County said a father swerved to avoid an oncoming car and crashed into a canal.

The man was able to get out of the car, but his 3-year-old son was trapped in his car seat under the water.

An officer jumped in, but that water was so murky he had to use his sense of touch to find the trapped boy.

The police department shared body camera video of the dramatic rescue.
