Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach predicted to draw 170K people over weekend

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — It’s going to be a busy weekend in Daytona Beach for rock music fans.

More than 170,000 people are expected to visit for the Welcome to Rockville festival.

This year’s event will take up the entire Daytona International Speedway starting Thursday and running through Sunday.

Officials said they are expecting 45,000 people every day, with people staying as far out as Orlando and Jacksonville.

Organizers said passes are still available, and guests can come out for the entire weekend or for a day.

Officials are recommending you bring an empty water bottle and fill it up at the speedway to stay hydrated.
