WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in the Florida Panhandle said drivers stopping for a turtle crossing the highway may be to blame for a chain-reaction crash.
Walton County deputies said a driver stopped on State Road 331 South on Tuesday morning, to let a turtle cross the road.
That caused several other vehicles, including a semi-truck, to crash.
Deputies want to remind drivers that trying to avoid or help an animal can put you or other drivers at risk.
