Woman shot after jumping fence outside Orange County business

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were arrested in connection with an Orange County shooting, and one of them was the woman who was shot, authorities said,

The woman was shot outside an Orange County business early Monday morning, deputies said.

Investigators said Bhuwareshawar Ramjas, 50, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm.

The incident began when Tammy Speakman, 33, climbed a fence to get into the Doven Cars business on Cypress Street.

Deputies said another woman and Ramjas were inside the business and heard someone jumping the fence and called out to find out who it was. Deputies said when no one answered, Ramjas opened the door and fired his gun, hitting Speakman.

Speakman was conscious when she was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Authorities said Speakman is out of surgery and is in stable condition.

The woman who was inside with the shooter is a friend of Speakman, investigators said. Deputies said Speakman may have been stopping by the business to see her friend.

Deputies said narcotics were found at the scene, and those charges are pending. Speakman will be placed under arrest after her hospital stay due to an active felony warrant.

Ramjas is in jail on $3,500 bail.
