OVIEDO, Fla. — WFTV learned that Hagerty High School and Carillon Elementary (see map) in Oviedo were placed on code red lockdown Wednesday morning. However, around 11:45 am, the schools were taken off lockdown.
Investigators said the schools were placed on lockdown based on possible threat. A student, investigators said, claimed that another student had a weapon in his car and might have planned to retrieve it. However, WFTV learned deputies believe that information to be false and are interviewing the student who made the accusation.
The sheriff's office said they are continuing to investigate.
