MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida man suffered a multiple injuries after he crashed his bicycle when an iguana darted in front of his path.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 62 year-old Marathon man was out riding his bike on the Crane Point Hammock path on Thursday, when the reptile ran in front of his path causing the crash.
The iguana became lodged in the between the front wheel and fork, causing the front tire to lock up, throwing the rider over the handlebars.

The man was transported to Fisherman’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his head, arms and legs, according to deputies.
“The condition of the iguana did not appear as stable,” deputies said in a Facebook post.
