Chargers QB Justin Herbert has fracture in rib cartilage, considered day-to-day

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is considered day-to-day after x-rays revealed he has a fracture in his rib cartilage, coach Brandon Staley said on Friday.

Herbert went down hard near the end of their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, and was in visible pain as he fought to finish out the 27-24 loss.

Staley said Thursday night that Herbert was "OK," and that he would undergo testing on Friday — which is what determined the fracture.

It's unclear if Herbert will end up missing any time. The Chargers will host the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday afternoon.
