ORLANDO, Fla. — The candidates on the ballot for the state attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit will face off in a debate on Channel 9 on Sunday.
Democrat Monique Worrell and No Party Affiliated candidate Jose Torroella will take part in the final installment of the WFTV Central Florida Debate Series at 12:30 p.m.
Channel 9 political reporter Christopher Heath will moderate the half-hour debate between the candidates running for the top prosecutor’s job in Orange and Osceola counties.
The candidates will debate issues ranging from prosecuting police accused of criminal misconduct to handling death penalty cases to answering whether they believe systemic racism exists in the criminal justice system.
Worrell defeated former Chief Judge Belvin Perry and two other candidates during the August primary.
