New Hidden Mickeys appear on Disney property at a relatively constant rate. Disney doesn’t keep an official list of Hidden Mickeys; they just place new Hidden Images and wait for us to find them! Alas, Hidden Mickeys are also lost constantly, for example, when an area or attraction is refurbished. So, Hidden Mickey fans are always on the lookout! As you enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Mickey (not hidden) is there to greet you.
In the Streets of America section of the park, you’ll come across several classic (three-circle) Hidden Mickey paint splotches scattered around outside the Stage 1 Company Store near MuppetVision 3D. Here’s a yellow classic Mickey on the sidewalk near the wall.
Another yellow classic Mickey paint splotch is between a Cast Member door and a big bull’s-eye on the walkway between the MuppetVision 3D building and the Stage 1 Company Store. It’s at the upper left of the photo near the blue door.
Inside the Stage 1 Company Store, look for an old bureau that’s loaded with hats for sale and has paint cans at the very top. You’ll find a green, painted classic Mickey near the center of the desktop.
Inside Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano nearby, a red classic Mickey marking is on the wall, on the exposed brick behind the check-in podium and to the left of the hanging grapes and grape leaves. It’s about six feet up from the floor and near the edge of the brick wall that’s next to the opening with the hanging grapes.
Walk to the end of Sunset Boulevard and find a number of compelling classic Hidden Mickeys at the high-speed Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
As you exit the ride vehicle and settle your nerves, look for “Box #15” on the right side of the room with the guest photo screens. The “o” in “Box” is a classic Mickey.
On the box next to box #15, “Sash Cord” is written at the left side of a piece of tape. The “o” in “Cord” is a black classic Mickey.
On a cashier’s counter at the right rear of the gift shop, just before the exit walkway, a Hidden Mickey is made of guitar picks under the laminated surface.
The famous face of Mickey Mouse on the upside-down park map has been distorted over time. One corner of his smile is still visible, and his forehead “widow’s peak” shows up just below where Hollywood Boulevard ends. (Look closely and you’ll see that his eyes and widow’s peak are darker areas in the cement.) To the right, Echo Lake forms one ear.
Enjoy the search!
