Burger King is issuing some new menu items to compete with other fast food restaurants, and the offerings are interesting.
Mashable reported that Burger King is also offering the Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger, which has two beef patties, lettuce and onions on a toasted hoagie bun and garlic butter sauce for dipping.
The burger is on the restaurant's limited time 4 for $5 menu, which looks like Burger King's response to Wendy's 4 for $4 menu.
The burger started appearing in restaurants in mid-January.
In a Jan. 27 press release, Burger King announced that items like jalapeno chicken fries, Oreo Irish mint shake and the Dr. Pepper shake will be available for a limited time.
The Dr. Pepper and Oreo Irish mint shake are selling for $2.89, according to Foodbeast.
The Huffington Post reported that the shakes made their debut last week.
Reaction to the Dr. Pepper shake has been mixed.
The Dr Pepper shake is exactly how it sounds. Vanilla shake with Dr Pepper in it. It's meh.

The new shake can pretty much be considered a float. From that view, it doesn't seem as strange as a Dr. Pepper shake sounds.
Ready for this? Burger King's Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger is going nationwide in the U.S. next week. https://t.co/vQu0PY5xN1
