Students at Sierra Vista K-8 in Vacaville made signs and left class to rally outside their school after walking in to find out chocolate milk had been removed from the menu, KCRA reported.

While the kids were upset, the director of the school district’s nutrition department told KCRA the decision to remove chocolate milk was made because of the sugar content.

After the protest, students and the administration were able to come to an agreement, where chocolate milk will be available for one day every other week, KGO reported. Teachers told KGO they believed it was an effective lesson for the kids in how to form an argument and stand up for what they believe in.
