SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Her father was killed during a shooting at his California fire department, but Joslyn Carlon had her dad close to her heart when she walked across the graduation stage Thursday.
Tory Carlon, a firefighter at the Agua Dulce fire department for 20 years, was shot and killed by fellow firefighter Jonathan Tatone. The pair had an ongoing work dispute, KABC reported.
Tatone set his home on fire and killed himself after the killing, officials said.
Two days after she lost her father, Joslyn bravely put on his firefighting jacket over her graduation gown and accepted her diploma, KABC reported.
