An unnamed source who spoke on condition of anonymity told the news agency Sunday about the move, which had not yet been publicly revealed. The team was expected to announce Napier’s hiring later in the day, according to the AP.

The 42-year-old Napier, who is head coach for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns (11-1), likely will stay in his current post through the end of the week, the AP reported. He will then move on to the Gators, who fired their former coach, Dan Mullen, last week.
