A Florida man is accused of being drunk while at the beach Tuesday afternoon, screaming and throwing bottles at children, authorities said.

Stephen Russell Joye, of Naples, who turned 34 on Tuesday, was charged with one count of disorderly conduct and causing a public disturbance and one count of resisting arrest without violence, according to Collier County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

According to police, a man reported Joye to authorities on Tuesday, claiming that he was yelling at his two children, WBBH-TV reported.

The man claimed that Joye threatened his 4-year-old son for stealing his beach toys, the television station reported.

According to police, Joye smelled of alcohol and staggered away from the scene, WBBH reported. Police said Joye also attempted to punch an officer, the television station reported.

Joye was arrested, and police said he unbuckled himself while inside a Naples Police Department vehicle and banged his head against the cruiser’s partition, according to WBBH.

Joye will appear in court on May 5, online records show.
