Group steals $45K in candles, fragrances from Florida Bath & Body Works, police say

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A trio of thieves targeted Bath & Body Works stores in the Tampa Bay area, stealing $45,000 worth of candles, air fresheners and body spray, investigators said.

Clearwater police said Ciara Bryant, Clemetra Lamar and Krashanta Barnes stole $15,000 worth of products on multiple occasions from a location at Countryside Mall, WFLA reported.

Investigators said the group, who all live in St. Petersburg, also stole $30,000 of items from other locations in the Tampa Bay area.

Bryant, 35, Lamar, 25, and Barnes, 32, were arrested and charged with grand theft, police said.

Clearwater Police detectives have arrested three suspects in connection with a string of felony thefts at a store at Countryside Mall. Each was charged with grand theft and booked in to the Pinellas County Jail after their recent arrests. They are accused of stealing $15,000 worth of products from the Bath & Body Works at the mall in Clearwater during multiple visits, and some $30,000 at other locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. Arrested were Ciara Bryant (DOB 5-24-1986), Clemetra Lamar (DOB 9-17-1995) and Krashanta Barnes (DOB 5-31-1989). All are from St. Petersburg and have lengthy prior arrest records. The suspects targeted candles, air fresheners and body spray in the thefts.
