BATON ROUGE, La. — A member of Phi Kappa Psi on the Louisiana State University campus is facing criminal charges after a hazing incident left a fraternity pledge on life support.
Terry Pat Reynolds II, 21, was arrested Monday on one count of felony criminal hazing, 12 counts of misdemeanor criminal hazing and one count of failure to seek assistance. He was released from custody Monday after posting $13,500 bond, WAFB reported.

The arrest stems from a hazing investigation opened Oct. 19 after police were called to a Baton Rouge area hospital after the victim, identified only as Victim 1, was checked in for severe alcohol poisoning. The males who dropped the victim off for medical treatment were later identified as members of Phi Kappa Psi, the TV station reported.
Hospital staff told investigators that the victim, whose blood-alcohol concentration of 0.451% was nearly six times the legal limit, was unresponsive upon arrival and “had frothy, pink foam coming from his mouth and nose, indicating organ failure” and was placed on life support immediately, WAFB reported.
According to the affidavit, Reynolds had called several fraternity pledges to his off-campus home and instructed them to finish all the alcohol given to them before he would allow them to leave.
Text messages obtained by police show Reynolds saying that at least 10 pledges were “blackout” and needed rides, WMAZ reported, noting police confirmed that no 911 calls were made from the house that night.
