SAN FRANCISCO — Drag queens can’t perform on stage in some regions right now, so they’re taking their show on the road with meal delivery with a side of cabaret.
Drag queens from the Oasis nightclub in San Francisco started “Meals on Heels” to keep the entertainers on the job getting paid and taking their show on the road, KGO reported.
It was a local service featured on KGO in early August that has caught national attention, including The Associated Press and The Washington Post.
“Meals on Heels” was supposed to be a one-time deal, a fun way to give a few of the regular performers at Oasis, a cabaret and nightclub in San Francisco, the chance to earn money. Then it took off. https://t.co/qvIyvaz7NW

The drag queens are delivering a meal, a cocktail and a lip-synced show to customers, the AP reported.
One customer who took part in “Meals on Heels” said it was a change in pace.
“There’s not a lot to do these days with shelter in place and COVID and all that. So [you] gotta spice it up somehow. It’s really fun,” Kelsie Costa told the AP.
