NEW YORK — Kim Kardashian wasn’t the only star to bring the drama to the Met Gala red carpet.
According to The Associated Press, co-host Blake Lively, accompanied by husband Ryan Reynolds, arrived at Monday night’s event in a rose gold Atelier Versace gown. But when the “Gossip Girl” alum stopped on the stairs, the tug of a bow unveiled a sparkling baby-blue train. Lively, 34, also swapped her pink evening gloves with blue ones as onlookers cheered, the news outlet reported.
Lively said the design was inspired by the Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building and other landmarks, the AP reported.
“Instead of looking to fashion to influence the dress, I looked to New York City architecture,” Lively said, according to the news agency.
The theme of the gala, which celebrated the opening of the museum’s “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” exhibition, was gilded glamour, the AP reported.
