Report: Former Florida sergeant agreed to help reinstate woman’s probation for sexual favors

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — A former Baker County sergeant who was fired for reportedly violating several standards of conduct has been arrested, according to WJAX-TV.

Randy Davis, 63, was arrested on a felony bribery charge, according to reports. Davis is being held in the Bradford County Jail on $100,000 bail.

According to Davis’ arrest report, deputies say he agreed to help a woman get reinstated on probation in exchange for sexual favors.

The report describes her lying in the back of a patrol vehicle as they drove to Davis’ home.

WJAX-TV reported on Davis’ firing Dec. 11 after he reportedly violated several standards of conduct.

The Sheriff’s Office said an allegation of misconduct was made against Davis on Nov. 22.

Sheriff Scotty Rhoden put Davis on administrative leave as the Sheriff’s Office investigated the claim.

On Dec. 11, WJAX-TV confirmed that according to the Sheriff’s Office, Davis was fired for violating several employment standards of conduct. His termination letter is dated Dec. 4.

WJAX-TV got the following statement from Rhoden on Dec. 11:

“The Baker County Sheriff’s Office is committed to the consistent pursuit of justice without favoritism or prejudice. Sergeant Davis is currently under criminal investigation which prohibits me from releasing details of the report until the investigation is complete. As Sheriff, I remain committed to leading a department with high moral standards and strong character. Whether criminal or not, any misconduct by an employee will always be handled immediately and without favoritism. Deputies of the Baker County Sheriff’s Office are expected to be leaders in our community and role models to our youth. As long as I’m Sheriff, we will not tolerate any breach in our shared values and mission as a department.”
