Kimora Hodges is accused of abusing 11-month-old Kyrie between 3:30 p.m. and midnight on June 13 at a home in Roseville, WDIV reported.

Taylor Starks, Kyrie’s mother, told WJBK that Hodges had watched her son multiple times and was considered a “trusted babysitter” and friend. Starks told the station that initially, Hodges sent her a message saying that Kyrie had eaten soap and was having an allergic reaction.

“Once I made it there, my baby was on the ground having seizure, after seizure, after seizure,” Starks told WJBK.

The child was taken to the hospital, where he had emergency surgery, WDIV reported.

“He had blunt force trauma to the head and he was bleeding out his ears and had to have immediate brain surgery,” Starks told WJBK. “All I know is she threw my son into the wall and shook him up pretty bad and they said that’s just a bit of what she did to him.”

Detectives told WDIV that Hodges admitted to physically abusing the child. While Hodges was initially charged with first-degree child abuse, police told WDIV that they are working with prosecutors to enhance the charges after Kyrie’s death Wednesday morning.
