The Tunkahannock Township Police Department shared photos of the crash on its Facebook page, showing a red vehicle that crashed onto the roof of a home.

The photos show a red sedan with its trunk in the air, resting over the eave of a home’s roof. Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, but that excessive speed was a contributing factor.

Police said the car crashed early Tuesday afternoon when the red car failed to follow a left-hand turn in the road, causing it to crash into a log pile, WETM reported. After hitting the logs, the car went airborne and hit a rock before then landing on the home’s roof.

Photos shared by the police department show a crane was brought in to help remove the vehicle from the scene. A white car that appeared to be parked outside the home was also damaged.
