UCF Falls To UTEP 76-54

None — UCF's athletic department released the following statement.

TULSA, Okla. – The UCF men's basketball team saw its season come to an end late Thursday in the Conference USA Championship quarterfinals at the BOK Center as No. 21 UTEP posted a 76-54 victory over the Knights. Ninth-seeded UCF concludes the season 15-17 overall.

The top-seeded Miners (25-5) advanced to the semifinals and will face fifth-seed and tournament host Tulsa Friday afternoon. UTEP shot 56.0 percent overall for the contest, and forced 15 UCF turnovers.

The Miners shot 68.0 percent overall in the opening half and took a 48-20 edge into intermission.

Freshman forward Keith Clanton (Orlando, Fla.) led the Knights with 12 points.

The Miners had four players finish with double-digits in scoring, led by Jeremy Williams with 17 points. He made all nine of his attempts at the free-throw line.

UCF was facing a nationally-ranked team for the third time this season.
