Winn-Dixie announces reduced hours, closes self-serve deli bars over coronavirus concerns

ORLANDO, Fla. — The grocery store chain Winn-Dixie announced changes to its daily operations over concerns of the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Starting Monday, March 16, 2020, all its stores will close at 9 p.m. nightly
  • This schedule shift is until further notice
  • The stores will no longer operate self-serve deli bars
  • Customers can buy prepackaged deli items
  • Customers who use the company’s delivery service can opt to use a ‘drop and leave’ feature to avoid personal contact with the delivery person

Winn-Dixie is the latest store to adjust to the coronavirus pandemic. Last week Publix and Walmart announced changes as well.
