UCF basketball star leaves for the NBA

ORLANDO, Fla — UCF freshman star Taylor Hendricks will forgo his remaining college eligibility and enter the 2023 NBA draft, becoming the first one-and-done player in program history. He signed with Raymond Brothers, president of Roc Nation basketball as his representation.

Hendricks is the Knights’ highest recruit in program history. In his only season at UCF, he averaged 15.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game.

The all-AAC freshman set a conference record by winning rookie of the week nine times during the 2022-23 season.

In his only season, Hendricks made 61 of 155 3-pointers in 34 games shooting 39% from the perimeter.

He also led the Knights to a 67-49 win over the Florida Gators in the NIT. The victory was just their second win against Florida men’s basketball out of 12 meetings.

The NBA draft will be on June 22 in Brooklyn, NY.
