Back to school forecast: Hot and drier conditions in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida is forecast to see hotter and drier conditions as most children prepare to return to school.

Average high temperatures in Central Florida should reach around 96 degrees.

The heat index, or feels-like temperatures, should be near 105 degrees for inland counties.

The extra dust in the air will also lower storm chances to around 30% for Wednesday through Friday.

As the dust settles this weekend, rain chances will increase.

Channel 9 is continuing to track the tropics. But there is nothing forecast to threaten Florida anytime soon.
