Very hot Wednesday ahead in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — It’s going to be a very hot day in Central Florida.

The average high temperature for our area should reach around 94 degrees.

Once you add in the humanity, the heat index, or feels-like temperature, will be around 106 degrees.

Rain chances have gone down slightly for Wednesday, compared to what we’ve been seeing.

Central Florida will see a 50% chance of scattered afternoon rain and storms.

This same weather will stick around through the end of the week.

Channel 9 continues to track the tropics and thankfully, there is nothing threatening Florida.

There are a few tropical areas in the Atlantic that may develop.

If the tropical disturbance in the Central Atlantic doesn’t get a name today (odds are it will not), this will be the first time in 25 years that we’ve gone through August without a named storm.

We are in one of the quietest stretches of any hurricane season on record.
