Verizon is dumping some customers in these 13 states

Verizon is often praised as the best wireless network with "outstanding" performance, speed and reliability. In an effort to stay in the top spot, the carrier recently added unlimited plans back into the mix. But this may be the cause of something that can only be described as "Clarkrageous."

The wireless giant plans to disconnect 8,500 rural customers in 13 different states because they’re using too much unlimited data.

Verizon cuts ties with rural data users

According to BGR.com, Verizon is terminating the plans of users who live outside of areas where Verizon operates. The network claims these consumers are using a substantial amount of data while roaming on other providers' networks, and the roaming costs generated by these lines exceed what these consumers pay each month.

Here are the states that are affected: Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah and Wisconsin. The service for affected customers will stop after October 17.

Now is the time to shop for a better, cheaper plan

If someone really doesn't want you, it means you shouldn't want them. There are numerous cheaper choices for your cell phone service.

Generally, Clark recommends Republic Wireless or Sprint as the best deal for one person, or T-Mobile or Sprint for families. If you're over the age of 55, T-Mobile is offering two lines with unlimited talk, text and data for $60.

Luckily, if you live in a more rural area, signals are getting better so you can soon have access to a variety of deals! According to its website, T-Mobile is continuing to expand coverage so you may start to see an improved signal by the end of the year.

If you still want (or need) Verizon's service, check out Total Wireless. You get the benefits of Verizon's network without the expensive bill.
