9 things to do this weekend: Greg Warmoth Reindeer Run, holiday movie at Lake Eola & more

ORLANDO, Fla. — Are you looking for something to do this weekend?

Here’s a list of nine things happening in Central Florida.

1. Greg Warmoth Reindeer Run Presented by AdventHealth for Children

Thousands of people will run and walk through SeaWorld for the Greg Warmoth Reindeer Run.

The goal of the event is to not only have fun, but raise money for families going through battles with childhood cancer.

2. Watch the Blue Origin launch

“Good Morning America” co-anchor Michael Strahan is preparing to lift off on a Blue Origin rocket.

A rocket is expected to launch from Van Horn, Texas at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

3. Bright Lights & Merry Nights Christmas Parade in Daytona Beach

The city of Daytona Beach is bringing back its annual Bright Lights & Merry Nights Christmas Parade.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bethune Point Park.

Several bridge and road closures will be in place for the popular parade.

Drivers should plan accordingly if planning to use the Veterans Memorial or International Speedway Boulevard bridges Saturday evening, which will close for the parade.

4. Festival of Lights Parade in Kissimmee

The annual Kissimmee Festival of Lights Parade is happening this weekend.

Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to attend the holiday event full of music, dancing, and thousands of holiday lights.

5. Orlando Balloon Glow

The fourth annual Orlando Balloon Glow lifts off this weekend at Blue Jacket Park.

The event features hot air balloons glowing after dark, food trucks and retail vendors. The event also features various activities for kids, including bounce houses and carnival games.

6. Outdoor Movie Night at Wekiva Island

An outdoor movie night at Wekiva Island is happening this weekend.

“The Santa Clause” will be playing Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

7. Holiday Movie at Lake Eola Park: The Polar Express

Another holiday movie will be played at Lake Eola this weekend.

“The Polar Express” will play Friday at 7 p.m.

8. Hearts of Reality

You can get up close and personal with your favorite reality TV stars this weekend while also supporting a good cause.

Hearts of Reality 2021 officially kicks off Thursday. The four-day event takes place at Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, 210 South Bass Road.

Over those four days, guests will have access to meet more than 120 reality stars from “Survivor,” “Big Brother,” “The Amazing Race,” “Naked and Afraid” and more.

9. 9th Annual Violectric Holiday Show

Central Floridians can rock in the holidays with the popular strings super-group “Violectric” at the annual holiday show.

The concert is free and will features traditional holiday songs mashed up with classic rock tunes and modern hits.

It will start at 7 p.m. at Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park.
