ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.,None — The man accused of raping a woman while she was on the sleeping pill Ambien will get his ankle monitoring bracelet removed.
Yehisson Acevedo asked a judge Monday afternoon to let him take off the monitor and move out of state. The judge granted that request, but with a catch; Acevedo now has to wear a GPS tracking device instead.
Here's the difference. On home confinement, anytime Acevedo walks 75 feet out of his home it alerts he's gone, but doesn't show where. With a GPS, a satellite will track exactly where he is at all times.

Acevedo cried out his innocence during his arrest.
"No, I'm not a rapist, this is not happening. She's lying," he said while being arrested in July 2009.
Acevedo remained calm Monday in an Orange County court hearing to try to get his home confinement bracelet taken off.
"No one will hire me right now," he told a judge.
Acevedo told the judge his part time work won't allow him to support his family. He begged for permission to move to Connecticut with his girlfriend and newborn son where a job is waiting for him at a family grocery store.
"There are no real ties for him in Orange County, so the state is concerned he might be flight risk," Orange County Circuit Court Judge Marc Lubet said.
So the judge worked out a compromise. He can remove the home confinement and move up north, but must pay for a GPS device that will track him anywhere in the country. The judge laid down a warning should Acevedo decide to run.
"He's going to be a really old man before he sees his kids out from behind bars and that would be very foolish of him," Lubet said.
Acevedo promised to make his court appearances on charges he raped the woman who was on the sleep medication Ambien, stole her iPod and pawned it.
"Do you think you deserved this break? Anything you want to say at all, Yehisson?" WFTV reporter Jeff Deal asked him after the hearing, but got no reply.
Acevedo is not allowed back in Florida except to appear in court, visit his attorney and visit his two other children from another relationship.
Acevedo's trial is set for July.
