Arrest Made In Apt. Double Homicide Case

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department said it arrested 31-year-old Donte Terell Morgan in connection to a double homicide at the Kirkman Road Apartments on Wednesday. Police said Morgan is a suspect in the deaths of 35-year-old Benjamin Hamilton and 27-year-old Amanda Hines, who were shot to death inside an apartment.

Investigators said someone called 911 when they heard shots fired around 3:00 a.m on Wednesday. When an Orlando police officer responded at the scene, they found the two dead inside one of the units.

Police said there has not been an increase in crime in the MetroWest area, but so far this year there have been 20 homicides in the city. Last year during the same time period, there were 11 homicides.

The apartment complex mangers told WFTV there are security guards posted at night and now extra patrols will be on duty.
