BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — This week, mission managers at the Kennedy Space Center could give the space shuttle Atlantis the green light for its final mission next month.
Over the weekend, engineers conducted a test on Atlantis' main fuel valve. Crews also installed a heat shield on one of the shuttle's engines.
They'll hold a news conference after they conduct a flight readiness review. Right now, Atlantis is set to blast off on Friday, July 8 at 11:26 am.
