Black bear spotted in Altamonte Springs neighborhood

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — Neighbors contacted WFTV after seeing a black bear in an Altamonte Springs neighborhood Saturday morning.

The black bear was spotted outside of a home on Oak Gate Circle around 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

A resident said she came across the lone black bear after noticing her bird feeder had been knocked over.

Neighbors said the bear eventually made its way back into the woods. The Altamonte Springs neighborhood backs up to a wooded area that surrounds Lake Lotus.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said their crews did not need to respond for the bear.
