Arkansas State University on lockdown: What we know now

All campus activities, including final exams, were canceled Thursday after Arkansas State University was placed on lockdown.

The suspect is Brad Kenneth Bartelt, a 47-year-old white male, according to The Associated Press. He was charged with aggravated assault.

Campus activity resumes as normal on Friday, the school announced on Twitter.

Postponed final exams will take place Dec. 16.

They are moving to his vehicle, which was reported to have a propane tank in the back, next.

Bill Smith the Director of Communications at Arkansas State University told Fox13 Memphis the male student drove into the middle of campus and brandished a weapon.

The suspect had propane tanks in the back of his trunk, according to a Fox13 reporter.

Police responded immediately.

The school remains on lockdown.

No shots have been fired and no injuries have been reported.

Police at Arkansas State University have surrounded a man who was on campus with a weapon, the school said.

The campus remains on lockdown.

The man was first spotted at the Reng Student Union and had a gun.

The incident started when he drove into the center of campus, the school's report said.
