BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — One person was killed after they were hit by a car near Cocoa Sunday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. along West King Street and Clearlake Road.
According to troopers an elderly woman was crossing West King Street when she was hit by a pickup truck.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.
Troopers said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
