JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 4-year-old boy was found dead in a retention pond after a missing child alert was issued in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Gavin Douyon was last seen in the 12000 block of Chester Creek Road on Memorial Day.

Officials said his body was located in a pond near where he was reported missing.
The sheriff’s office said Gavin was diagnosed with autism and was non-verbal.
Channel 9′s sister station, Action News Jax, reported that Gavin’s family was from New York and were visiting Florida for a family member’s birthday.

Investigators said no foul play was suspected, and the incident appears to be a “horrible and tragic loss of life.”
