Former Lake Brantley Athlete Killed In Crash

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla.,None — A former Lake Brantley High School football player was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday night. Christopher Thole, 19, was killed when the motorcycle he was riding struck a car.

The crash happened just after 8:00pm Monday at the intersection of North Hunt Club Boulevard and Winchester Place ( see map ) in Longwood.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, 32-year-old Tory Carrol was traveling south on North Hunt Boulevard in her Honda Accord when she attempted to turn left onto Winchester Place. Thole was traveling north on N. Hunt Club and was unable to avoid the car. The front of his Suzuki motorcycle struck the side of Carrol's Accord.

Christopher Thole - Personal Picture - 071310 N. Hunt Club Boulevard is a divided roadway with numerous trees in the median. As a result, it may have been difficult for Carrol to see the oncoming motorcycle.

Thole was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, but did not survive his injuries. He was wearing a helmet, and at this point there is no indication that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The FHP report has not publicized any speed calculations associated with the crash.

The crash remains under investigation and charges against Carrol are still pending.
