PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — A jail house phone call (listen)could help investigators find out what happened to Haleigh Cummings.
RAW AUDIO: Call Suggests Cousin Responsible For Missing Girl
Tommy Croslin, the brother of Misty Croslin, told his grandmother during a recorded, jailhouse telephone conversation that one of their cousins killed Haleigh.
"Do you know Tommy?" asked the grandmother.
"What's that?" replied Tommy.
"Do you know?" repeated the grandmother.
"All I know is...that he's got to pay. And he can't get to none of us so it don't matter," said Tommy.
Joe Overstreet - Cousin of Misty Croslin - 051410 Joe Overstreet Joe Overstreet is the name of the cousin to which Tommy Croslin is referring. Overstreet lives in Tennessee but was in Putnam County when Haleigh disappeared. Detectives have questioned Overstreet, but he has not been arrested.
Tommy Croslin, his sister Misty and her ex-husband, Ronald Cummings, are all in jail on drug charges unrelated to the Haleigh case.
At a pre-trial hearing held Thursday, the attorney for Ronald Cummings says he is working on a plea deal before the trial starts. As a part of the deal, Cummings would agree to testify against Misty and her brother.
The trial is expected to start on July 19th, 2010.
