Police: Man arrested in fatal shooting outside Leesburg Bojangles'

LEESBURG, Fla. — A man was arrested for fatally shooting a man and for shooting a woman Thursday night outside a Leesburg Bojangles' restaurant, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

The U.S. Marshal's Task Force captured William Coffey, 24, Friday on Picciola Road near Fruitland Park, Leesburg police Lt. Joe Iozzi said.

"He is being transported to the Leesburg Police Department for questioning with investigators," Iozzi. "He will then be turned over to the Lake County Jail."

An argument between a large group of people in the parking lot escalated into a shooting between the parties, officials said.

Coffey fatally shot Charles Webber, 22, and shot Sheree Allen, 25, in the leg, police said.

Allen was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries. Investigators didn't release her condition.

Those involved in the shooting knew each other, police said.

One man was taken into custody following the shooting but was later released. Police said he witnessed the shootings.
