ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies said clerks at two convenience stores were robbed just a few minutes apart early Tuesday morning.
The robbers struck at a Hess Mart on Goldenrod Road and a Circle K on Lake Underhill Road and officials said they believe the two incidents are related.
Deputies said at about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, the Circle K was hit, and 13 minutes later, a Hess Mart clerk was robbed.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance video from the robberies.
There were no injuries reported.
Deputies said two armed men demanded money from the clerks. At the Circle K robbery, one of the men placed the gun in the small of the clerk's back while demanding money.
The men fled in a two-door red Honda Civic, deputies said.
Authorities said a few hours later Orlando police located a red Civic near the area of the robberies and the vehicle was stopped without incident.
Detectives detained the driver of the Civic for further investigation, but he was released after questioning.
Investigators believe that the robbers who struck Tuesday are the same ones involved in four other robberies.
On Sept. 10 another Hess Station and Circle K was hit by two men wearing masks and carrying guns that appear to be identical to those used Tuesday.
Just a few days ago a clerk at a Circle K in Seminole County was robbed by the same two men. They are also believed to have committed a robbery at a CVS Pharmacy on International Drive.
No arrests have been made.
