‘Adopt a senior’ Facebook group gives Volusia County high school seniors virtual celebration, encouragement

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Graduation plans for the majority of Central Florida high school seniors are being put on hold. That includes the 4,000 seniors in Volusia County.

That is why Volusia County mom Staci Tramont said she decided to create an “adopt a Volusia County 2020 senior” Facebook group to make sure the class of 2020 seniors do not miss out.

The group allows community members to adopt a senior and send them clothes, gift cards and words of encouragement to help them get ready for the next chapter in their lives.

“It speaks volumes about Volusia County and the amazing people we live amongst,” Tramont said.

Senior Trinity Allen’s mom posted some information about her daughter and highlighted her success in track, fashion and editing.

Allen was adopted in minutes.

“We absolutely needed this right now. It’s uplifting our spirits. It’s helping,” Allen said. “I’m about to cry thinking about it. We are very grateful for what you guys have done to help us and stay motivated.”
