ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.,None — Attorneys for an Orange County man accused of killing his neighbor will try Monday to get murder charges dismissed.
Corey Thomas said he was acting in self defense when he shot his neighbor William Parris in May.
Parris was a corrections officer.
Thomas' defense attorneys said Parris came into Thomas' yard armed and making threats.
They are citing the stand your ground law, which allows citizens to use deadly force when they see a violent felony being committed.
