JUPITER, Fla. — U.S. Coast Guard crews and partner agencies, including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, are continuing to search for a 48-year-old paddleboarder who was last seen about 4 miles off Jupiter Beach.
Matt Pawlowski was last seen on Monday at about 9 a.m. heading east on a 14-foot lime-green and yellow paddleboard, according to the Coast Guard. He was reportedly wearing a white hat, orange shirt and gray shorts.
FWC officers announced today that they are assisting Coast Guard crews with aerial and surface searches. Authorities mentioned that search efforts have continued through the night, concentrating on Pawlowski’s last known position, drift patterns, and potential routes.
The Coast Guard shared some good news: a kind-hearted Good Samaritan found a paddleboard matching Pawlowski’s description about 10 miles offshore of Jupiter Island on Wednesday. Thankfully, the paddleboard has now been safely returned to local law enforcement.
