ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.,None — The estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Thursday in the death of her friend's 1-year-old baby.
Amanda Brumfield was convicted of aggravated manslaughter last May. She was babysitting a friend's 1-year-old daughter when the child fell, hit her head and later died.
Prosecutors said Brumfield did not get immediate medical attention for the baby.
"I'm going to sentence you to guilty on the charge of aggravated manslaugter of a child and I'm going to sentence you to 20 years in the Department of Corrections," said the judge on Thursday.
Brumfield starting crying and was consoled by her lawyer as the judge gave her credit for her 465 days of time-served since she was convicted.
