Brevard Fire Rescue battle heavy flames at house fire on Merritt Island

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla — Heavy flames kept Brevard County Fire Rescue busy this afternoon as they battled a garage fire along River Island St. on Merritt Island.

Brevard County Fire Rescue says the detached garage was heavily involved when they arrived on scene before noon, and the fire had spread to a nearby RV.

Fire fighters say everyone made it out of the home and say no one was injured. No cause of the fire has been released.
