Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital donates recess kits to two area schools

Both Cambridge Elementary School and University Park Elementary School received nine kits each

Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital recently donated 18 G.R.O.W. Healthy Kids recess kits to two Brevard County elementary schools, helping provide equipment that encourages physical activity, teamwork and fun during the school day.

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital generously donated 18 G.R.O.W. Healthy Kids recess kits to two Brevard County elementary schools. Each school happily received nine kits filled with fun sports and play equipment, ensuring students have exciting activities to enjoy during the school day.

“Recess is vital for a child’s physical, social, and emotional health, but access varies across schools,” she said. “These kits help meet the need by providing resources that promote active play, creativity, and connection among students,” said Heather Profit, community relations manager at Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital, East Region.

The hospital sponsored and delivered the donation to Cambridge Elementary School in Cocoa and University Park Elementary School in Melbourne. The recess kits contain soccer balls, footballs, lacrosse equipment, cones and jump ropes.

Profit continues, “We’re proud to support our local schools and invest in opportunities that help children thrive.”
